Helping the Needy Get Nerdy
Free Geek is an award winning Portland, Oregon volunteer organization that teaches volunteers how to build computers from donated recycled parts and then gives those computers to people who can’t afford one–including the volunteers.
At least a dozen North American cities have adopted the model.
